Joan L. (Newmoyer) Seitz, 72, of Womelsdorf, passed away May 21, 2012 at Cedar Haven, Lebanon. She was the wife of Allen R. Seitz, Jr.

Born in Reading, she was raised by Walter Newmoyer and her aunt, Florence “Flossie” Newmoyer.

She worked and retired after 23 years from the Fritztown Fire Company.

She was a member of the Fritztown, Womelsdorf, and Robesonia Fire Companies, and the Womelsdorf VFW. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing cards, and in her younger years roller skating. Her favorite pastime was playing bingo. She loved cats, and writing letters to her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband Allen, she is survived by three sons, Russell A. Seitz, Reading, Mark L. Seitz, St. Augustine, FL, and Gary D. Seitz husband of Kristie, Disputant, VA; a daughter, Sherri L. wife of Charles W. Dumbauld, Annville; five grandchildren, Sarah wife of Scott Rohrbach, Brady and Brett Seitz, Robert and Michael Rothermel; three great grandchildren, Christopher and Gavin Rohrbach, and Laila Rothermel; and her favorite pet companion, Henry the cat. She was preceded in death by a son, David E. Seitz.

Services will be held at 12:00PM, Thursday, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Wernersville, with the Rev. William Weiser officiating. Friends are invited to call 11-12:00PM, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
